The Gstaad Palace as it stands today was brought to life by bold pioneers. They began by building a railway from Montreux to Zweisimmen, with a major curve passing through the small village of Gstaad. With the support of investors from Lausanne, a visionary teacher had the first luxury hotel in the village constructed. Our Palace opened its doors in 1913, in the Oberbort district. Since then, it has withstood the test of time. The twists and turns of history have marked this Swiss hotel gem, which has been in the hands of the Scherz family since 1947.
